The offseason between the the 2018 Formula 1 season and the 2019 Formula 1 season looks like it could be a crazy one. Which drivers will drive for which teams next year?

Just two drivers entered the 2018 Formula 1 season with contracts that extend beyond the conclusion of the 2018 season. The other 18 drivers all entered the season with contracts that expire once the season comes to an end.

Since the start of the season, just two other drivers have signed a new contract to remain with their teams beyond the conclusion of the 2018 season, meaning only four drivers have done so so far. Those four drivers all signed contracts to remain with their respective teams through either the 2019 season or the 2020 season.

However, 16 active drivers have still not yet done so, and with several non-active drivers in the mix to become Formula 1 drivers, it is unlikely that all 16 of those drivers who have not done so will do so.

Which drivers will sign contracts to drive for which teams in the 2019 season? Which of those drivers are drivers who are currently active drivers, and which of those drivers are drivers who do not currently compete in Formula 1?

Let’s get started by looking at the driver lineup prediction for the team that are currently in last place in the constructor standings, Williams Martini Racing.
