Justin Allgaier earned his third victory of the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series season in the season’s 21st race, the Rock N Roll Tequila 170.

JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier earned his third victory of the 33-race 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series in the season’s 21st race, the Rock N Roll Tequila 170, at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Allgaier won the 75-lap race around the 13-turn, 2.258-mile (3.634-kilometer) Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio in his #7 Chevrolet by 2.095 seconds over second place finisher Austin Cindric of Team Penske.

Cindric was the highest finishing Ford driver of the race in his #22 Ford. With four laps to go, Allgaier passed Cindric, who had dominated the race, for the lead before going on to win it.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell was the highest finishing Toyota driver of the race. He finished in 11th place in his #20 Toyota. He was on pace for at least a podium finish until Sadler spun him out following a late restart. Bell, who was running in second at the time, fell to the back of the field, came into the pits for new tires under the next caution flag period, and rallied to finish in 11th.

The race featured a total of seven lead changes among four drivers. Aside of Allgaier, who led eight laps of the race, three other drivers led at least one lap of the race. Those drivers were Cindric, Bell and Andy Lally. Cindric led more laps than anybody else in the field with 59 laps led. Allgaier won stage one and Cindric won stage two.

The race also featured a total of six caution flag periods, of which four took place as a result of on-track incidents and two took place as a result of the endings of stages one and two like usual. Of the 40 drivers who started the race, 29 finished it, and of the 29 drivers who finished it, all 29 finished it on the lead lap.
