#5 through #1

Justin Haley improved from his 22nd starting spot all the way up to a ninth place finish. At the end of the second stage, he ran in seventh. If he improves in qualifying, gaining 13 spots from start to finish will have him contending for stage wins and race victories. Both will help him advance in the playoffs.. No. 24, GMS Racing. Chevrolet, LW: 5. JUSTIN HALEY. #5

#4. Ben Rhodes finished both the first stage and the overall race in sixth place. While sixth place is a good finish, three drivers in front of him are playoff drivers. If Rhodes wants to win another Truck Series championship for ThorSport Racing, he’ll need to finish ahead of the other playoff drivers.. No. 41, ThorSport Racing. Ford, LW: 4. BEN RHODES

#3. Four was the number for Noah Gragson at Michigan. He finished the first and second stages in fourth place. He led four times for 18 laps. When the checkered flag flew, he finished in fourth. Only four drivers will compete at Homestead-Miami for the Truck Series championship. He currently sits in third in the playoff standings. Look for him to challenge the two frontrunners, Johnny Sauter and Brett Moffitt, for more positions on track as he chases his first career Truck Series championship.. No. 18, Kyle Busch Motorsports. Toyota, LW: 3. NOAH GRAGSON

#2. Brett Moffitt tied Johnny Sauter for the most victories this 2018 Truck Series season with his win in the race at Michigan. He has 21 playoff points, one less than Sauter. While he sits in fifth place in the point standings, he sits in second in the playoff standings. At the conclusion of the 2018 Corrigan Oil 200, fans on Twitter praised him for his win and people remarked about the funding that Hattori Racing Enterprises lack, at least compared to the top teams. But at Michigan, winning cured all. If he  continues winning, his victories will turn into a championship performance.. No. 16, Hattori Racing Enterprises. Toyota, LW: 2. BRETT MOFFITT

Johnny Sauter began the Truck Series season as the early championship favorite. While he still leads the point standings and the playoff standings, his grip on being the prohibitive championship favorite has dwindled. Make no mistake about it, though. His 22 playoff points are a definite asset throughout the playoffs. Should he capture a stage win or a race victory at Bristol, he will definitely remind people that he is up to the challenge of winning his second career Truck Series championship.. No. 21, GMS Racing. Chevrolet, LW: 1. JOHNNY SAUTER. #1
