Elliott Sadler – Elliott Sadler tribute car

In August, Elliott Sadler announced that 2018 will be his last season in NASCAR competition. The 43-year old has competed in NASCAR since 1995 and has run almost exclusively in the Xfinity Series since 2011.

Sadler never found consistent success in NASCAR’s top series, but he was a popular face in the garage for his full stint as a regular. He grabbed three victories in the twelve years in which he competed full-time.

Since leaving the Cup Series, Sadler has chased an Xfinity title, and he has finished runner-up four times. He currently sits in second place in the championship standings and can hopefully win his first NASCAR title in his final season.

Considering all Sadler has been through, there are many paint schemes that could be chosen to honor the Virginia native. Sadler made M&M’s, Best Buy and Citgo paint schemes shine when he drove them in various years, and they would all be good picks.

However, I think it would be great to honor Sadler’s first Cup Series victory in 2001. He was an unknown face with only two career top 10 finishes to his name when he picked up his first career win at Bristol Motor Speedway in Spring 2001.

It would be awesome for Sadler to honor an iconic moment from his career with a throwback of this magnitude.
