Formula 1 made its stop to Ferrari’s home track, Autodromo Nazionale Monza, in Monza, Italy, where they tried to please the home crowd. What went awry?

Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport driver Lewis Hamilton played the part of the spoiler to the fanatic Ferrari home crowd by defeating both Scuderia Ferrari drivers, earning his sixth Formula 1 victory of the year.

Hamilton skillfully navigated around the 11-turn, 3.600-mile (5.793-kilometer) Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Monza, Italy to further extend his points lead over Ferrari rival Sebastian Vettel.

The previous Italian Grand Prix was held in 2017 and saw Hamilton fight for another victory at the Italian circuit, beating out teammate Valtteri Bottas by 4.471 seconds.

This year’s Italian Grand Prix was not lacking in excitement at all, as Hamilton looked to waste no time in attacking the Ferrari duo who occupied first and second place on the starting grid.

Hamilton made his move around the Variante della Roggia complex (turns four and five), which resulted in Vettel spinning and resuming the race at the back of the pack. From there, Hamilton was at full-attack until victory was his.

Here are the driver grades from the 2018 Italian Grand Prix.
