#10 through #6

Toyota, LW: 10. TODD GILLILAND. #10. The Fr8Auctions 250 epitomized Todd Gilliland’s season, as he could not put together a good full race. He qualified in sixth place, finished the first stage in sixth and won the second stage. Yet on lap 82, Grant Enfinger made contact with him and he wrecked. He finished the race in 20th. The good news? He is in 10th in the championship standings despite the fact that he missed some of the early races this season. He is also only 18 years old and has displayed talent this season. Now he must finesse it into a full race.. No. 4, Kyle Busch Motorsports

No. 13, ThorSport Racing. Ford, LW: 9. MYATT SNIDER. #9. Myatt Snider recorded his career-high finish in the Fr8Auctions 250. He brought his #13 ThorSport Ford home in second place! He also earned stage points in both stages. After the race, he sits 27 points ahead of Todd Gilliland for ninth in the championship standings, which is the first position outside the playoffs. He is also the top rookie. With more good finishes like that, he will win the 2018 Truck Series Rookie of the Year award.

#8. A broken valve spring limited the power in the #52 Halmar Friesen Racing Chevrolet and ultimately derailed Stewart Friesen’s championship hopes. Despite that challenge, he crossed the finish line in sixth place. While elimination from the playoffs certainly stings, he now can focus solely on winning his first carer Truck Series race. Congratulations, Stewart Friesen, on your best season to date!. No. 52, Halmar Friesen Racing. Chevrolet, LW: 5. STEWART FRIESEN

No. 41, ThorSport Racing. Ford, LW: 6. BEN RHODES. #7. Ben Rhodes needed a caution flag period. He was involved in the “Big One”, lost a lap and never recovered. He did not get the free pass to get back on the lead lap during the caution flag period that began on lap 84. Although he drove the rest of the race in the lead pack, because he was a lap down, he was unable to pass anymore trucks for position. As a result, he will not continue his quest for the 2018 Truck Series championship. Congratulations, Ben Rhodes, on a good season nonetheless. The highlight of his season thus far is his victory at his home track, Kentucky Speedway.

#6. I did not envy Matt Crafton after he wrecked during the “Big One”. His chance to advance to the round of 6 was out of his control for the last 36 laps. His teammate Ben Rhodes could not get his lap back, however, and Stewart Friesen did not win. Like I wrote in my pre-Talladega update, stage points proved to be crucial. Crafton earned 16 in the Fr8Auctions 250, and that kept his 2018 Truck Series championship hopes alive.. No. 88, ThorSport Racing. Ford, LW: 7. MATT CRAFTON
