NASCAR Truck Series Power Rankings after 2018 Texas Roadhouse 200
By Mark Kristl
With his win in the Texas Roadhouse 200, Johnny Sauter clinched a berth in the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series Championship 4. How did everyone else fare?
Johnny Sauter is set to compete for his second NASCAR Truck Series championship. With his victory in the 2018 Texas Roadhouse 200 at Martinsville Speedway, he clinched a berth in the Championship 4. My championship prediction is holding true!
A total of only 200 laps at Martinsville Speedway equaled a short race. Sauter won the race after winning the first two stages. Six caution flag periods led to plenty of racing, and Sauter led 148 of the race’s laps. Because Martinsville Speedway is a 0.526-mile short track, the race only lasted about an hour and a half. Also, a total of 23 drivers finished on the lead lap, so the playoff drivers certainly faced plenty of battles.
Sauter automatically clinched his berth in the Championship 4 with this win, but that does not significantly change the playoff picture. He entered the 2018 Texas Roadhouse 200 as the points leader, so five drivers are set to battle for two more races for the remaining three Championship 4 berths.
Here is how the playoff drivers finished in the Texas Roadhouse 200.
