NASCAR Truck Series: Each Championship 4 driver’s Championship 4 history
By Asher Fair
How have each of the four 2018 NASCAR Truck Series Championship 4 drivers performed in past Truck Series Championship 4 battles?
Of the 23 races on the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series schedule, 22 are in the books. As a result, only the Championship 4 race, the Ford EcoBoost 200, at Homestead-Miami Speedway remains on this year’s schedule. This race is set to determine who this year’s champion will be.
The four drivers who are set to compete to win this year’s Truck Series championship in the Ford EcoBoost 200 are GMS Racing teammates Johnny Sauter and Justin Haley as well as Hattori Racing Enterprises’ Brett Moffitt and Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Noah Gragson.
Heading into the 134-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Homestead-Miami Speedway oval in Homestead, Florida, let’s take a look at how each of these four drivers have performed in past Championship 4 battles (if applicable).
NOTE: The NASCAR Truck Series Championship 4 began in the 2016 season.
Johnny Sauter
The 2018 NASCAR Truck Series season is Johnny Sauter’s 10th season as a full-time Truck Series driver. He has competed in both of the two Championship 4 battles that have taken place. In 2016, he finished the race in third place en route to securing his first career Truck Series championship. In 2017, he finished the race in third en route to a second place finish in the championship standings.

Like it is for Justin Haley, the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series season is Noah Gragson’s second season as a full-time Truck Series driver. While he has driven in the races at Homestead-Miami Speedway in each of the last two seasons, he has never competed in the Championship 4 before.
