NASCAR Xfinity Series: Each Championship 4 driver’s Championship 4 history
By Asher Fair
How have each of the four drivers who are in the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship 4 drivers performed in past Xfinity Series Championship 4 battles?
Of the 33 races on the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule, 32 have been contested, leaving only the Championship 4 race before the season concludes. This race, the Ford EcoBoost 300, at Homestead-Miami Speedway is set to determine who this year’s champion will be.
The four drivers who are set to compete to win this year’s Xfinity Series championship in the Ford EcoBoost 300 are Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell, Stewart-Haas Racing’s Cole Custer, Richard Childress Racing’s Daniel Hemric and JR Motorsports’ Tyler Reddick.
Here is a brief overview of how each of these four drivers have performed in past Championship 4 battles (if applicable) heading into the 200-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Homestead-Miami Speedway oval in Homestead, Florida.
NOTE: The NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship 4 began in the 2016 season.
Christopher Bell
The 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series season is Christopher Bell’s first season as a full-time Xfinity Series driver. While he drove in the race at Homestead-Miami Speedway last season and finished in 36th place, he has never competed in the Championship 4 before.

Daniel Hemric
Like it is for Cole Custer, the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series season is Daniel Hemric’s second season as a full-time Xfinity Series driver. He competed in the Championship 4 in the 2017 season and finished the race in 34th place en route to a fourth place finish in the championship standings.
Tyler Reddick
Like it is for Christopher Bell, the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series season is Tyler Reddick’s first season as a full-time Xfinity Series driver. While he drove in the race at Homestead-Miami Speedway last season and finished in fourth place, he has never competed in the Championship 4 before.
