How do the 20 Formula 1 drivers stack up against one another now that all 21 races on the 2018 schedule have been completed?
Five-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton closed out his championship-winning 2018 season with yet another victory. He earned his 11th victory, a total that is tied for his career-high single-season win total with his win total in the 2014 season, by winning the 21st and final race of the season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, at Yas Marina Circuit.
Four other drivers representing two teams combined to win the other 10 races on the 2018 schedule. Scuderia Ferrari teammates Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen earned five victories and one victory, respectively, while Aston Martin Red Bull Racing teammates Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen each earned two victories this season.
Of the six drivers who drive for either Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull Racing, the three teams that combined to win each of the 21 races that were contested this season and that have combined to win each of the last 118 races that have been contested dating back to the 2013 season, only Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas failed to win a race this year.
That said, Bottas did have one potential victory in the Russian Grand Prix taken away from him as a result of team orders. His most recent victory took place in the 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which was the 2017 season finale.
