Haas

Romain Grosjean vs. Kevin Magnussen

With his early struggles in the 2018 season, Romain Grosjean was at risk of losing his ride with Haas for the 2019 season. However, he bounced back and ended up outscoring teammate Kevin Magnussen 37 to 29 over the course of the season’s final 13 races. Magnussen finished ahead of Grosjean in the driver standings, but the 32-year-old Frenchman undoubtedly had better form for much of the second half of the season. Grosjean beat Magnussen in the standings in the 2017 season, which was Magnussen’s first season driving for Haas, and entered the 2018 season having won each of his last four teammate battles.

The pick: Romain Grosjean

Racing Point

Sergio Perez vs. Lance Stroll

Lance Stroll’s talent is often overlooked by the fact that the wallet of his father Lawrence is why he is able to compete in Formula 1. This is the case now more than ever after Lawrence purchased Force India, renamed them Racing Point and hired his son as Esteban Ocon’s replacement for the 2019 season. But the 20-year-old Canadian will have his work cut out for him if he wants his talent noticed in 2019, as Sergio Perez has finished higher than his teammates in the driver standings in each of the last four seasons. He even won the unofficial “best of the rest” championships in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons, and he won both of them quite comfortably.
