The driver lineup in the 2019 Formula 1 season is set to look a lot different than it did in 2018. Here are the way-too-early driver power rankings for 2019.

Of the 20 drivers who are set to compete in Formula 1 in the 2019 season, 14 competed in the sport last season. Of those 14 drivers, only eight are set to drive for the teams for which they drove in the 2018 season.

Of the six drivers who did not compete in Formula 1 last season but are set to compete full-time in 2019, only two have competed in the sport on a full-time basis before.

With the driver lineup of the 2019 season being drastically different from the driver lineup of the 2018 season, how will the driver championship battle and the “best of the rest” driver battle play out?

Here are the way-too-early 2019 Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings.

#20 and #19

#20. . No. 26. Scuderia Toro Rosso, Honda. DANIIL KVYAT

Daniil Kvyat has struggled in past seasons competing in Formula 1, but after he was replaced by Toro Rosso at the end of the 2017 season and he ended up not competing in the sport the 2018 season, the Italian team have given him a second chance. The 24-year-old Russian has a lot to prove in what could be a make-or-break season in his Formula 1 career.

Williams Racing, Mercedes. ROBERT KUBICA. #19. . No. 88

What a story the comeback of Robert Kubica to Formula 1 is. Many people thought he would never return to the sport after the devastating rally crash in which he was involved in 2011. He won’t be driving for a top-tier team at Williams, but don’t rule out the possibility of the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix winner scoring points from time to time despite the fact that he has not driven in the sport since the 2010 season.
