NASCAR Truck Series: Tracking the driver changes from 2018 to 2019
By Mark Kristl
Niece Motorsports
Niece Motorsports are set to field at least one full-time entry. Ross Chastain and Reid Wilson are set to split the driving duties of the #45 Chevrolet. Timothy Peters is set to compete in the first three races as the driver of the #44 Chevrolet.
With 40 trucks entered for the season opener, owner points will determine the final five starting positions. Fortunately, Niece Motorsports purchased the #2 GMS Racing owner points. That entry finished in 14th place in the owner point standings last season.
Niece Motorsports have not specified whether or not Peters will continue to race beyond the first three races of the season. However, if he performs well and sponsorship is found, I would not be surprised to see him compete in more races for the team.
On Point Motorsports
Brennan Poole did not race in NASCAR at all in 2018. On Point Motorsports competed in five Truck Series races last year. This year, Poole and On Point Motorsports joined together for a full-time campaign. Poole is set to drive the #30 Toyota. The team did not purchase any owner points, so Poole will have to qualify on time for the first few races.
Roper Racing
Roper Racing competed in six races last season with team owner Cory Roper as the driver. The team would like to compete full-time this season, they are not set to do so at this time. Roper is set to drive the #04 Ford in the season opener.
