NASCAR Truck Series: Tracking the driver changes from 2018 to 2019
By Mark Kristl
ThorSport Racing
ThorSport Racing remain a four-truck team. Matt Crafton, Grant Enfinger, and Ben Rhodes are all set to return to the team as full-time drivers. The only change is that Rhodes is set to drive the #99 Ford this year instead of the #41 Ford that he drove last year.
After his surprising release from GMS Racing, Johnny Sauter is set to return to ThorSport Racing. He is set to drive the #13 Ford. Sauter previously drove for the team from the 2009 season through the 2015 season. Also, reigning Sunoco Rookie of the Year Award winner Myatt Snider is set to drive the #27 Ford on a part-time basis beginning in the season opener.
Young’s Motorsports
Young’s Motorsports have expanded this season. They have welcomed three rookies to the Truck Series. To aid their expansion, they purchased the #15 Premium Motorsports owner points. That entry finished in 22nd place in the owner point standings last season.

While this will help driver Gus Dean, who previously competed in the ARCA Menards Series and is set to drive the #12 Chevrolet, he should still concentrate on qualifying on speed. He is set to be joined by Tyler Dippel. Dippel made four starts in the Truck Series last year, but he primarily competed in the K&N Pro Series East. He is set to drive the #02 Chevrolet.
Rounding out the Young’s Motorsports trio is Spencer Boyd. Boyd finished in 26th place in the Xfinity Series championship standings last year. He has competed in six Truck Series races thus far in his career. He is set to drive the #20 Chevrolet. Check out his sporty new ride.
