The Audi R8 LMP ran full seasons in the American Le Mans Series from 2000 to 2005. The 2006 season was partially run by the Audi R10. The Audi R8 LMP also competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the European Le Mans Series in these years.

The Audi R8 LMP won the American Le Mans Series championship in each year from 2000 through 2006. It also won the European Le Mans Series championship in 2001 and 2004, and it won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in each year from 2000 through 2005.

Over the span of the Audi R8 LMP’s five-year competitive lifespan, it entered 79 races and won 63 of them. No car in the modern prototype car era has ever been as dominant as this car was.

1. Porsche 962

Known as one of the most dominant cars if not the most dominant car in the history of motorsports, the Porsche 962 was almost unstoppable during its time.

The Porsche 962 was introduced at the end of the 1984 season, and it was competitive through the mid-1990s. It competed in the IMSA GTP series as well with many other series. This car was the car to beat in every series that it raced in.

Just to touch on the achievements of the Porsche 962, it won the World Sportscar Championship in 1985 and 1986 and the IMSA GTP Championship in each year from 1985 through 1988. It also won multiple championships in series such as Interserie, the Supercup Series and the All Japan Sports Cup.

The Porsche 962 also won the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice, and it was a dominant force in IMSA until the mid-1990s. At the end of its career, it had won 21 constructor championships. This car will always be considered one of the most dominant cars if not the most dominant car of all-time.
