NASCAR Truck Series, IndyCar doubleheader at Gateway confirmed for 2020

A NASCAR Truck Series and IndyCar weekend doubleheader has been confirmed at Gateway Motorsports Park for August of 2020.
The 2020 NASCAR Truck Series schedule was released earlier this week, and the race at Gateway Motorsports Park is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 21, 2020. As a result, the weekend of this race is set to host a doubleheader including both a Truck Series race and an IndyCar race.
The IndyCar race at the four-turn, 1.25-mile (2.012-kilometer) Gateway Motorsports Park oval in Madison, Illinois is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 22, 2020.
Here is what Gateway Motorsports Park executive vice president and general manager Chris Blair had to say about the matter, according to RACER.
"“As soon as NASCAR released the Gander Outdoors Truck Series schedule on Wednesday, we were deluged with calls and messages from fans regarding the two events.“With the many changes affecting the overall Monster Energy Cup, Xfinity Series and Gander Outdoors schedules, we appreciate the cooperation between IndyCar and NASCAR to allow us to produce this great weekend of racing. Our fans will be treated to two action-packed days and we are working to provide entertaining content both on and off the track all weekend long.“Our event will continue to evolve so that we are never presenting the same show twice. We want to keep things fresh and exciting for our fans and we believe this is a major step forward in our goal of growing our St. Louis Speed Festival. We are working with more racing series and sanctioning bodies than ever before and are fully engaged on a very diverse schedule for the future.”"
This weekend may include Indy Lights and Indy Pro 2000 races as well, as discussions regarding these races potentially taking place have been confirmed.

The Truck Series and IndyCar currently take part in a weekend doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway. The Truck Series just competed at the track this past weekend, but it is set to return there on Friday, June 7. The following night, an IndyCar race is scheduled to take place at the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) high-banked oval in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Truck Series race at Gateway Motorsports Park this season is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 22 while the IndyCar race at the track this season is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 24, so this scheduled weekend doubleheader for the 2020 season was implemented primarily due to a change in the Truck Series schedule.
With the number of NASCAR Truck Series and IndyCar weekend doubleheaders set to double next season, could this be a sign of things to come as far as NASCAR and IndyCar working together, perhaps even in the form of the Xfinity Series and Cup Series taking part in weekend doubleheaders or even tripleheaders with America’s premier open-wheel racing series as well?
