Formula E: Lucas di Grassi wins 2019 Berlin ePrix

Lucas di Grassi earned his second victory of the 2018-2019 Formula E season by winning the season’s 10th race, the Berlin ePrix, at Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit.
Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler’s Lucas di Grassi earned his second victory of the 2018-2019 Formula E season in the 13-race season’s 10th race, the Berlin ePrix, at Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit.
Di Grassi earned his first victory of the season in the season’s fourth race, the Mexican City ePrix, at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. By winning the Berlin ePrix, he became just the second driver to win two races this season.
Di Grassi started the 37-lap race around the 10-turn, 1.398-mile (2.250-kilometer) Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit temporary street circuit in Berlin, Germany in third place in his #11 Spark-Audi, and he won it by 1.856 seconds over Nissan e.dams’ Sebastien Buemi, who started from the pole position, in second in his #23 Spark-Nissan.

DS Techeetah’s Jean-Eric Vergne, BMW i Andretti Motorsport’s Antonio Felix da Costa and HWA Racelab’s Stoffel Vandoorne rounded out the top five by finishing in third, fourth and fifth place in their #25 Spark-DS Automobiles, #28 Spark-BMW and #5 Spark-Venturi, respectively.
Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler’s Daniel Abt, BMW i Andretti Motorsport’s Alexander Sims, Nissan e.dams’ Oliver Rowland, Envision Virgin Racing’s Sam Bird and Mahindra Racing’s Pascal Wehrlein rounded out the top 10 by finishing in sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #66 Spark-Audi, #27 Spark-BMW, #22 Spark-Nissan, #2 Spark-Audi and #94 Spark-Mahindra, respectively.
The race featured only one lead change among two drivers. After Buemi led the race’s first five laps, di Grassi took the lead and never looked back en route to leading the final 32 laps. Of the 22 drivers who started the race, 20 finished it, and of these 20 drivers, all 20 finished the race.
