How did Josef Newgarden’s dominant victory and the rest of the action from Iowa Speedway in the Iowa 300 affect the IndyCar Power Rankings?

Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden put on yet another dominant performance at Iowa Speedway en route to earning his fourth victory of the 17-race 2019 IndyCar season in the season’s 12th race, the Iowa 300.

Newgarden’s victory in this 300-lap race around the four-turn, 0.894-mile (1.439-kilometer) Iowa Speedway oval in Newton, Iowa broke the tie atop the wins list with teammate Simon Pagenaud, as both drivers entered the race with three victories in the season’s first 11 races.

Team Penske now sit atop the wins list with seven victories, which is five victories higher than second place Andretti Autosport. Alexander Rossi has earned Andretti Autosport both of their victories so far this season.

With five races remaining on the 2019 schedule, Team Penske have clinched at least a share of the highest team win total for the sixth consecutive season. This is the case despite the fact that Will Power, who has won at least one race each season going back to the 2007 Champ Car season, is still searching for his first victory of the season.
