A.J. Allmendinger has been disqualified from the Zippo 200 at the Glen, marking his second disqualification of the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

Kaulig Racing’s A.J. Allmendinger has competed in two of the 20 races that have been contested so far in the 33-race 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

He has finished in the top three in both of them.

His average finishing position is 37.50.

For the second time this season, Allmendinger was disqualified and stripped of a top three finish. He originally finished the season’s 20th race, Saturday afternoon’s Zippo 200 at The Glen, at Watkins Glen International in second place behind Team Penske’s Austin Cindric, but his #10 Chevrolet failed post-race inspection.

According to NASCAR, Allmendinger’s #10 Chevrolet was “found to be too low on both the right-rear and left-rear corners in post-race inspection”. As a result, he was officially scored in 37th place.

Because of Allmendinger’s disqualification, the drivers who originally finished this 82-lap race around the eight-turn, 2.454-mile (3.949-kilometer) Watkins Glen International road course in Watkins Glen, New York from third through 37th place were all promoted by one position.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell was promoted to second place in his #20 Toyota ahead of JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier in third in his #7 Chevrolet, Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney in fourth in his #12 Ford and Richard Childress Racing’s Tyler Reddick in fifth in his #2 Chevrolet.

Stewart-Haas Racing teammates Chase Briscoe and Cole Custer finished in sixth and seventh place in their #98 Ford and #00 Ford, respectively. JR Motorsports teammates Michael Annett, Noah Gragson and Ryan Preece rounded out the top 10 by finishing in eighth, ninth and 10th in their #1 Chevrolet, #9 Chevrolet and #8 Chevrolet, respectively.

Allmendinger was also disqualified from the race at Daytona International Speedway in early July after completing a 1-2-3 sweep for Kaulig Racing in third place. He was officially scored in 38th in this race.
