Brett Moffitt secured his fourth victory of the 2019 NASCAR Truck Series season by dominating the second playoff race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the Chevrolet Silverado 250.

Brett Moffitt’s NASCAR Truck Series title defense got off to a great start in last week’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway, the opening race of the 2019 playoffs, and he continued that title defense by adding another victory in the Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

The GMS Racing driver started this 64-lap race around the 10-turn, 2.459-mile (3.957-kilometer) Canadian Tire Motorsport Park road course in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada from the pole position in his #24 Chevrolet, and he won it by 5.160 seconds over Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Alex Tagliani in a career-high second place in his #51 Toyota.

ThorSport Racing’s Ben Rhodes, GMS Racing’s Sheldon Creed and Hattori Racing Enterprises’ Austin Hill rounded out the top five by finishing in third, fourth and fifth place in their #99 Ford, #2 Chevrolet and #16 Toyota, respectively.

ThorSport Racing’s Johnny Sauter, Halmar Friesen Racing’s Stewart Friesen, Niece Motorsports’ Ross Chastain and DGR Crosley teammates Tyler Ankrum and Raphael Lessard rounded out the top 10 by finishing in sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #13 Ford, #52 Chevrolet, #45 Chevrolet, #17 Toyota and #54 Toyota, respectively.

This race featured a total of six lead changes among five drivers. Moffitt dominated the race by leading 44 of its 64 laps. Rhodes, Hill, Friesen and Chastain were the only other drivers who led any laps of the race. Moffitt won stage one while Chastain won stage two.

This race featured only one incident-related caution flag period to go along with the two caution flag periods that brought stage one and stage two to their respective ends. Of the season-low 29 drivers who competed in this race, 24 finished it. Of those 24 drivers, 18 finished on the lead lap.

Compared to past races at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, this race was rather tame, particularly because it didn’t involve the second place driver spinning out the race leader in an attempt to win the race on the final lap like several recent races at the track have.

Here are the full race results of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
