With the offseason between the 2019 and 2020 IndyCar seasons underway, who are the way-too-early top 10 drivers heading into 2020?

The 17-race 2019 IndyCar season came to a close in Monterey, California with the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca a few weekends ago.

It came to a close with Harding Steinbrenner Racing rookie Colton Herta in victory lane and with the spotlight focused Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden, who had just won his second career championships and his second in the last three seasons.

As a result, the offseason between the 2019 season and the 17-race 2020 season is underway, and the latter is not scheduled to begin until mid-March.

Who are the way-too-early top 10 drivers for next season?

Before we get started, make note of the fact that this article is not associated with the way-too-early driver power rankings article planned for later this offseason once the driver lineup becomes clearer.

As of now, 12 full-time driver confirmations for next year are official, while there are four others that are very, very close to becoming official.

Not all 10 of the drivers discussed in this article have been *officially* confirmed for next year, but their rides are pretty much set in stone. Where applicable, these instances will be noted.

Let’s get started with #10.
