2016
JR Motorsports teammates Justin Allgaier and Elliott Sadler and Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Daniel Suarez and Erik Jones were the four Championship 4 drivers in 2016. Suarez won the season finale and thus the championship to go along with it. Sadler finished the race in third place to finish in second in the championship standings while Allgaier finished in sixth to finish in third and Jones finished ninth to finish in fourth.
2017
Allgaier and Sadler both returned to the Championship 4 in 2017, and JR Motorsports teammate William Byron joined then along with Richard Childress Racing’s Daniel Hemric. It was Stewart-Haas Racing’s Cole Custer who won the season finale ahead of Team Penske’s Sam Hornish Jr. in second place, but it was Byron who won the championship with his third place finish. Sadler, Allgaier and Hemric finished the race in eighth, 12th and 34th to finish in second, third and fourth in the championship standings, respectively.
2018
Hemric returned to the Championship 4 in 2018, and he was joined by Custer, JR Motorsports’ Tyler Reddick and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell. Reddick won the season finale to win the championship, and he finished just ahead of Custer in second place in both the race and the championship standings. Hemric and Bell finished in third and fourth place in the standings by finishing the race in fourth and 11th, respectively.
