#4 and #3

#4. . No. 22. Team Penske, Ford. JOEY LOGANO

Joey Logano, while he only won two races in 2019, was the best driver not to qualify for the Championship 4. He still finished in third place in the overall point standings using the traditional points method thanks to his extraordinary consistency and prowess at scoring stage points, a category in which he dominated throughout 2019, and he actually finished ahead of two of the Championship 4 drivers in the round of 8 standings as well, only failing to advance because they each won a round of 8 race. There’s no reason he can’t be back in contention to win a second championship in 2020.

. No. 4. Stewart-Haas Racing, Ford. KEVIN HARVICK. #3

Kevin Harvick has become a virtual lock to qualify for the Championship 4. It took him until halfway through the 2019 season to finish a single race higher than fourth place, and he still managed to make it to the Championship 4 with four victories. He has qualified for the round in five of its six seasons, only failing to do so in 2016, when he ironically accrued the most points of anybody from the start to finish of the season. The “Big 3” of Harvick, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex have been in each of the last three and four of the last five Championship 4s together. Expect that trend to continue in 2020.
