NASCAR Cup Series: Early 2020 power rankings

#32 and #31
The #00 Chevrolet is one of the cars that has next to no chance of securing a solid result on a weekly basis, although it almost won the rain-shortened race at Daytona International Speedway in July, throwing away a second place finish that would have been a victory since the leader came into the pits by making an unnecessary pit stop prior to the early display of the checkered flag. Other than that 11th place finish, Landon Cassill drove it to just one top 23 finish in 2019. Quin Houff, meanwhile, finished no higher than 28th in the 17 starts he made in his first season driving for Spire Motorsports. Don’t expect much from Houff or the team in 2020.
Amid speculation that he may join the Richard Childress Racing Xfinity Series team, Daniel Suarez is back with Toyota at Gaunt Brothers Racing after he was released from Joe Gibbs Racing following the 2018 season and joined Ford with Stewart-Haas Racing. Coca-Cola is set to continue backing him financially in what is slated to be his fourth full season in the Cup Series. Gaunt Brothers Racing have never competed full-time and only competed in more than the Daytona 500 for the first time in 2018, but they showed decent speed relative to the other backmarker teams and could contend for top 25 or top 30 finishes regularly. Suarez could be in position to run well on occasion in 2020.
