#18 and #17

#18. . No. 26. Andretti Autosport, Honda. ZACH VEACH

Zach Veach’s struggle has been right around the level of Marco Andretti’s, just in a much shorter span of time. For that reason, he ranks ahead of his teammate. After showing strides toward the end of his rookie year in 2018, he looked promising for 2019, but that promise did not ultimately amount to anything; his best finish of seventh place was the worst top finish among all full-time drivers, and he placed inside the top 11 at only two different venues. Entering his third season, a contract season, it’s really hard to forecast exactly where he will show improvement. But improvement is certainly the most likely scenario after his disastrous 2019 campaign.

No. 60. Meyer Shank Racing, Honda. JACK HARVEY. #17.

Jack Harvey’s fourth season in IndyCar is set to be his first full year, and he has shown what he is capable of doing having recorded a career-high finish of third place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course driving for Meyer Shank Racing when they were aligned with Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in 2019. With Meyer Shank Racing now having a technical alliance with Andretti Autosport, he should continue to show good pace from time to time and make steady improvements. The question is, will he be in the Marco Andretti/Zach Veach range of Andretti Autosport, or the Alexander Rossi/Ryan Hunter-Reay/Colton Herta range? For now, he still has a lot to prove having recorded only one top nine finish in his first 19 starts.
