3. Rolex 24 At Daytona

The Rolex 24 At Daytona is one of the most prestigious sports car races in the world, and it is definitely the biggest of these races that is held in the United States.

The first 24-hour race at Daytona International Speedway was held in 1966. The current series that competes in the event is the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the most well-known sports car endurance racing series in the United States and one of the top sports car series in the world.

The Rolex 24 At Daytona regularly brings in some of the most well-known drivers to race in the only sports car race they will race in throughout the entire year.

A few non-full-time sports car drivers who have run in the race in recent years include four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon, two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso and two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch.

The fact that the race is a part of the Triple Crown of endurance racing along with the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Le Mans makes it is easily one of the crown jewels of racing in the United States.
