NASCAR: Kyle Busch returns to Xfinity Series, back in Twix car
By Asher Fair
We recently spoke to Kyle Busch about his 2020 NASCAR season and his return to the Xfinity Series driving the #54 TWIX Cookies & Crème Toyota Supra for Joe Gibbs Racing this weekend.
For the fourth time in the 2020 NASCAR season and the third time since the season was halted unexpectedly for over 10 weeks to due to the coronavirus pandemic, Kyle Busch is set to compete in the Xfinity Series this weekend.
While there wasn’t another unexpected 75-day break causing Busch to be out of the car, nine races have been contested since he last competed in a race at NASCAR’s second highest level of competition 54 days ago.
Busch, who has finished in each position in the top three through the first three of his five scheduled starts this season, is set to be back behind the wheel of the #54 Toyota Supra for Joe Gibbs Racing in this Saturday afternoon’s My Bariatric Solutions 300 at Texas Motor Speedway (3:00 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network).

Busch finished in third place behind teammates Brandon Jones and Harrison Burton at Phoenix Raceway back in early March before the unexpected stoppage, and he competed in the first two races after the series returned in mid-May. He finished in second at Darlington Raceway behind Stewart-Haas Racing’s Chase Briscoe, and he won at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
For the second time this season, Busch is set to run a TWIX Cookies & Crème paint scheme on the #54 Toyota. TWIX is a chocolate bar made by Mars, Inc., a long-time sponsor of Busch at Joe Gibbs Racing, and the 35-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native ran this paint scheme back in March at Phoenix Raceway.
We had the chance to speak with Busch ahead of the upcoming race weekend at the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) oval in Fort Worth, Texas, during which he is also slated to compete in the Truck Series race on Saturday, July 18 (8:00 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1) and the Cup Series race on Sunday, July 19 (3:00 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network).
“It’s great to have TWIX Cookies & Crème back on our No. 54 Toyota in Texas this weekend,” Busch told Beyond the Flag. “Cookies & Crème is the latest product innovation from TWIX and brings two iconic favorites together – cookies & crème. TWIX Cookies and Crème is available in stores nationwide.
