Clint Bowyer 2021 replacement candidates: Erik Jones

With the #32 Ford at Go Fas Racing not yet having a confirmed driver for next year, it is not out of the question that Chase Briscoe could end up in that car next year given the team’s technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing.

That could potentially open up the door for Erik Jones to move to the #14 Ford. Jones is set to lose his ride with Joe Gibbs Racing after three seasons, as they have confirmed that Christopher Bell is set to replace him behind the wheel of the #20 Toyota.

Team co-owner Tony Stewart stated publicly that he would rather sign Larson than Jones. But with Larson believed to be heading to Hendrick Motorsports, Jones could be a good option if they opt not to promote Briscoe directly to their four car teams.

But Jones has reportedly been in talks with other teams as well, most notably Richard Petty Motorsports, and a deal for him to replace Bubba Wallace behind the wheel of the #43 Chevrolet is expected to be announced in the very near future.

So if Briscoe, Larson and Jones don’t end up in the #14 Ford next year where else could Stewart-Haas Racing turn?
