Way-too-early 2021 NASCAR Power Rankings: #30 and #29

#30. . No. 77. Spire Motorsports, Chevrolet. COREY LAJOIE

Corey LaJoie has not been confirmed as the driver of the #77 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports for the 2021 season, but he has long been rumored to become the team’s first ever full-time driver in their third season of full-time competition, and it would appear that a confirmation of such is coming. LaJoie has driven for backmarker teams throughout his career and regularly gotten the most out of his equipment, and we can expect more of that out of him in 2021. Spire Motorsports should be able to be more competitive than they have ever been, given their partnerships with Hendrick Motorsports and Chip Ganassi Racing.

Trackhouse Racing Team, Chevrolet. DANIEL SUAREZ. #29. . No. 99

Daniel Suarez is set to compete for his fourth different team in the last four seasons in the 2021 season, having signed a deal to compete for Trackhouse Racing Team, a new team started by Justin Marks, after it was announced that he would not be back behind the wheel of the #96 Toyota for Gaunt Brothers Racing. He should be more competitive in 2021 than he was in 2020, as he recorded just three top 20 finishes and no finishes higher than 18th place. Most importantly, because the #99 Chevrolet is a chartered entry, he is guaranteed a spot in the starting lineup for the Daytona 500 after unfortunately failing to qualify for the race in 2020.
