Rich Energy 2021 landing spots: No. 1 – Nowhere

I’d like to clarify “nowhere” as meaning that they do not land an official team-based sponsorship, be it a title sponsorship deal or anything that ties them to a specific team. Even if this it the case, Rich Energy could still end up partnering with an individual driver (or more) in the right scenario, like they do in other series.

I simply don’t see any of the other eight teams being legitimate possibilities in terms of a title sponsorship agreement.

We can’t forget just how bizarre that sequence was. It began with a tweet that stated the following:

“Today [July 10, 2019] Rich Energy terminated our contract with the Haas Formula One team for poor performance. We aim to beat Red Bull Racing and to be behind Williams Racing in Austria is unacceptable. The politics and PC attitude in Formula One is also inhibiting our business. We wish the team well.”

And it only got more bizarre from there over the next two months before the teams officially cut ties on September 9 and it seemed as though Rich Energy would be gone from Formula 1 forever.

Apparently that is not the case, given the renaissance which Storey claims to have led with the company’s biggest challenges now behind them, but knowing how things have gone in the past, it still could be.

Finally, here’s why it won’t be any of the other eight teams, aside from Alpine and Williams…
