Highest paid NASCAR drivers of 2020 – 4. Kevin Harvick

Kevin Harvick, who drives the #4 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing, comes in at #4 on this list after earning a total of $12.2 million throughout the 2020 season, of which $10.9 million comes from his salary.

Harvick has competed full-time in the Cup Series since 2001, and he has been with Stewart-Haas Racing since 2014 after spending the first 13 seasons of his career at Richard Childress Racing. He was the team’s replacement after Dale Earnhardt passed away following a last-lap crash in the 2001 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

Harvick, who won the 2014 championship, was considered the favorite to win again in 2020. He earned a career-high nine victories to move into ninth place on the all-time list with 58, and on points alone (ignoring the playoff resets), he dominated the field and had the unofficial title wrapped up with two races to go.

In fact, on points alone, Harvick would now have four titles. Ironically, he would not have been the champion when he actually won the title back in 2014, however.

But not only did he fall short of the title in 2020; he also fell short of even making it to the Championship 4. He had been to the round in five of its first six seasons, including the last three, before his shocking round of 8 elimination.
