Aston Martin – Round 2, Pick 7 (Pick 17 overall): Nicholas Latifi

Nicholas Latifi has had the disadvantage of going up against George Russell to start his Formula 1 career, and that has made him look bad.

That would be the case for just about anybody, especially driving the slow Williams, where he hasn’t been able to showcase his true skillset, aside from a race or two here and there.

By no means is 25 years old “old”, but by Formula 1 standards, it’s not super young, either, at least when it comes to beginning a career in the sport. This works against him here since he was a rookie in 2020, and as a result, he falls to #17 overall.

McLaren – Round 2, Pick 8 (Pick 18 overall): Antonio Giovinazzi

Antonio Giovinazzi is in a boat similar to that of Nicholas Latifi in that he started his career as a full-time Formula 1 driver at the age of 25. The difference is that he is now 27, so he goes one spot later.

Since the second half of his rookie year, he has fared well against teammate Kimi Raikkonen at Alfa Romeo, but he hasn’t proven to be the ideal candidate to land a promotion to a top team, despite Ferrari continuing to back his effort.
