NASCAR: Kyle Busch is laughing at everyone right now
By Asher Fair
Kyle Busch’s much anticipated NASCAR Xfinity Series victory celebration at Nashville Superspeedway was exactly what we all should have expected.
There was much anticipation leading up to the first NASCAR race weekend at Nashville Superspeedway since 2011, especially surrounding Kyle Busch and his pursuit of 100 career Xfinity Series victories.
In 2009, Busch infamously smashed the guitar trophy he won after winning the Xfinity (Nationwide) Series race at the four-turn, 1.333-mile (2.145-kilometer) oval in Lebanon, Tennessee, a celebration adored by his fans and despised by his haters — pretty much like anything NASCAR’s most polarizing driver has done over the years.
Take a look at that celebration from 12 years ago.

Busch had discussed the possibility of making his victory lane celebration memorable again if he were to win at all during NASCAR’s return to Nashville Superspeedway this weekend, just like he did in 2009.
He did indeed win Saturday’s Xfinity Series race, holding off JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier to take his #54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to victory lane. So after securing his 100th career victory, he was naturally pressed on what the ensuing celebration might entail.
After the race, NBC Sports reporter Marty Snider asked him, “How about the guitar? You got plans for that? I know you’ve been thinking about it, and people have been asking you about it, Kyle.”
All Busch said was, “Everybody’s getting a piece tonight!”
Snider responded, “Oh, there you go! So he is going to break the guitar when he gets to victory lane!”
But Busch never said anything of the sort. And that alone should have been an indicator that the 36-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native had no plans to break the guitar. Even if he did initially have plans to do so, there was no way he was going to do what everybody wanted him to and expected him to. That’s simply not Busch’s style.
So all that build-up and all that hype could only lead to one thing: Kyle Busch being Kyle Busch.
You love to see it.
And, of course, the guitar loved it too.
Busch is set to make his next Xfinity Series start on Saturday, July 3 at Road America in the Henry 180, which is set to be broadcast live on NBC beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET.
