In addition to securing his 100th career NASCAR Xfinity Series victory, Kyle Busch set a new career-high at Nashville Superspeedway.

Due to NASCAR’s restrictions on full-time Cup Series drivers with at least five years of experience, Kyle Busch is only allowed to compete in five Xfinity Series races per season. Two Saturdays ago at Nashville Superspeedway, he made the third of his five scheduled starts this season.

Busch, who won his first two starts of the season at Circuit of the Americas and Texas Motor Speedway, made it three for three by winning at the four-turn, 1.333-mile (2.145-kilometer) oval in Lebanon, Tennessee.

As a result, he is now a 100-time Xfinity Series race winner, something that he has said many times would lead him to retire from competing at the sport’s second highest level, except for if he was needed by Joe Gibbs Racing from time to time in their additional car.

Additionally, Busch also secured a career-high mark in Xfinity Series winning percentage.

More from Xfinity Series

Entering the year, Busch had 97 career Xfinity Series victories, meaning he needed three wins in five races to achieve a triple-digit win total.

But as successful as he had been in the Xfinity Series throughout his career, which dates all the way back to 2003, he had never before won 60% of his starts in a single season — not even in a limited number of starts. In fact, only three times had he won more than 50% of his starts in a single season. He went 10 for 17 (career-high 58.82%) in 2016, five for 10 (50%) in 2017, and four for seven (57.14%) in 2019.

With his 100th career victory, he cannot finish the 2021 season with worse than a 60% win percentage.

The 36-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native is also set to compete at Road America on Saturday, July 3 and at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 10. Even if he doesn’t win either race, he would still finish the season three for five (60%).
