NASCAR: 5 teams that still need drivers for 2022

Several teams still have open seats for the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, with a few even facing some uncertainty on car count.
Quite a few driver lineup changes and charter transactions have been announced for the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season throughout 2021, but there is still a decent amount of uncertainty regarding next year’s lineup as we maneuver our way through the early stages of the offseason.
Take a look at five teams that still need to confirm drivers for the 2022 season.

NASCAR teams that still need drivers: No. 1 – Kaulig Racing
After running part-time with one car in the 2021 season, Kaulig Racing purchased two charters from Spire Motorsports, including the one which had been leased out to Trackhouse Racing Team for the 2021 season, to run full-time for the first time ever in 2022.
Justin Haley, who ironically competed part-time for Spire Motorsports in the Cup Seires while driving full-time for Matt Kaulig’s team in the Xfinity Series, is set to pilot one of these entries, the #16 Chevrolet, on a full-time basis in 2022.
The other entry, which is without a confirmed number, is still open for the majority of the year. A.J. Allmendinger is set to return to the team’s #16 Chevrolet in the Xfinity Series for a second season, and he is also set to drive this second car part-time in the Cup Series in roughly 12 to 15 races.
This means that the team still need to solidify their lineup for the other 21 to 24 races on the schedule, and they surely have plenty of options to choose from.
