IndyCar: Driver lineup changes from 2021 to 2022

There are a number of changes at several teams that have been made to the driver lineup between the 2021 and 2022 IndyCar seasons.
As is often the case over the offseason, there have been quite a few changes to the IndyCar driver lineup ahead of the 2022 season.
Let’s take a look at where all of the sport’s teams stand heading into 2022.
NOTE: Only full-time cars are included in the list below. (R) means rookie.
First, here’s a look at the only team not making any changes from 2021 ahead of next year.
Arrow McLaren SP, Chevrolet
- #5 – Pato O’Ward
- #7 – Felix Rosenqvist
Here’s a look at the teams making just one change for next year.
Chip Ganassi Racing, Honda
- In: #48 – Jimmie Johnson (was part-time, road and street courses only, in 2021)
- Out: #48 – Tony Kanaan (still set for Indy 500 in a fifth Chip Ganassi Racing entry, but not all oval races like in 2021)
- No change: #8 – Marcus Ericsson
- No change: #9 – Scott Dixon
- No change: #10 – Alex Palou
Ed Carpenter Racing, Chevrolet
- In: #20 – Conor Daly (was part-time, road and street courses only, in 2021)
- Out: #20 – Ed Carpenter (still set for Indy 500 in a third Ed Carpenter Racing entry, but not all oval races like in 2021 as of now)
- No change: #21 – Rinus VeeKay
Juncos Hollinger Racing, Chevrolet
- In: #77 – Callum Ilott (R) (was part-time in 2021)

The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is scheduled to get the 2022 IndyCar season underway on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida on Sunday, February 27. This race is set to be broadcast live on NBC beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET.
