Formula 1 manufacturer rankings: No. 2 – Ferrari

What a rollercoaster for the Tifosi over the past three seasons: falling out of contention with Mercedes, experiencing one of the single most painful downfalls in sporting history, and rapidly rising back to contention with a season-long title fight against longtime rival constructor McLaren.

The Scuderia now have an opportunity to pair a quickly improving power unit alongside the brand-new aerodynamic regulations.

With some of the best facilities and personnel in Formula 1, Ferrari will always possess the highest of expectations not only from their supporters but from the entirety of Formula 1 and the nation of Italy.

The last time the FIA introduced new aerodynamic regulations, Ferrari found themselves on the back foot, providing championship contender Fernando Alonso with subpar machinery in 2012.

This time, however, Ferrari will have Loic Bigois as their “Head of Aerodynamic Operations”. He was a part of the team which developed the dominant Brawn BGP 001, which ran rampant through 2009 with their double-diffuser concept.

Ferrari will always push the bounds of allowance by the FIA (and sometimes get away with it), and this time they will have ultimate freedom over a brand-new aerodynamic platform. Led by an aerodynamicist who has proven his ability to conjure innovative concepts, the Tifosi will be back in droves for the 2022 campaign.
