Formula 1: Power unit rankings after the engine freeze

Formula 1 power unit rankings: No. 1 – Ferrari
Ferrari torna in vetta! Currently assumed to have one of the leading aerodynamic packages on the grid, Ferrari brought home a 1-2 finish on Sunday with the resilience of Carlos Sainz Jr. to patiently wait for the downfall of the Red Bulls.
Despite being repeatedly reeled in by Max Verstappen on the main straight, Charles Leclerc still had plenty in his power unit to fight back in the following DRS zone for three laps straight.
The most impressive part of Sunday for the Ferrari power unit though was the exceptional performance of their customer teams.
Kevin Magnussen placed a revived Haas in fifth, Valtteri Bottas brought his Alfa Romeo all the way back to eighth after a horrid start from sixth, Chinese rookie Guanyu Zhou scored a point on his debut in 10th, and academy prodigy Mick Schumacher still finished ahead of all Mercedes customer teams in 11th after a lap one takeout and troubles with his setup throughout the weekend.
While the offseason claims of a “superlight” power unit are yet to be fully proven, the Scuderia have done their homework in the offseason to deliver a championship package. The team’s next test in Jeddah will be a true display of engine power on the right-pedal focused layout.
