The new half-hour NASCAR series titled Austin Dillon’s Life in the Fast Lane is set to premiere this evening on USA Network.

The premier of Austin Dillon’s Life in the Fast Lane, the new half-hour unscripted television series which follows the over-the-top lifestyle of NASCAR Cup Series driver Austin Dillon, along with his wife Whitney, his son Ace, and his best friends Paul and Mariel Swan, is scheduled to take place this evening.

The series features high-stakes races, hilarious adventures and heartwarming moments at home, as the 2018 Daytona 500 champion leans on his loved ones both on and off the track as he trains and competes behind the wheel of the #3 Chevrolet for his grandfather’s race team, Richard Childress Racing.

Dillon spoke to us earlier this week about this series and how it got started.

“It’s kind of a crazy story,” Dillon told Beyond the Flag. “Going into it, the girls had their first show, that was the Racing Wives, and after that, it’s like, look, I’m not going to be a part of any show, unless it’s about our group, our friend group, and what we like to do. And hopefully if that happens, I want to be able to help with the producer and have just a good environment because I want to show what we’re really about, and that’s family, friends, fun, and racing – and our faith.”

That exact type of show came to fruition, and now fans have the opportunity to see what they came up with.

“In this situation, I made all these ultimatums, and then a group reached out to us like, hey, can we put this reel together and try to shop it to people?” he continued. “Yea, if it’s us, it’s our group, it’s fine. So we did some Zoom interviews with our family and Paul and Mariel, and they shopped it and USA Network picked it up, and I was like, I guess we got a show now, because I had kind of said, yeah, if it goes and all these things check off the list, I’m in.

“And the list got checked, and here we are now, and the show’s already about to air. It’s kind of crazy.”

Dillon believes that there is something for everybody in this new show: old-school NASCAR fans, new NASCAR fans, and even those who don’t even consider themselves NASCAR — or any kind of racing — fans.

“I think it’s a little bit of everybody,” he said. “Old, new, people who haven’t seen NASCAR. I think you can probably find something relatable in it along the way. Paul brings all this juice, Mariel and Whitney bring this fun-loving attitude to everything, and then I’m the old kind of serious guy, I guess, in the show, because I got a job to do.

“But yeah, it’s a great show and I think it’s going to be great. Everybody who’s seen it and watched some of the shows have told me it’s good. I’m too nervous to really watch, but I think it’ll be good!”

While the focus is on tonight’s premiere and making sure everything continues to go smoothly with the several episodes that have already been produced, Dillon is already thinking long-term.

“As far as season two, there is definitely interest there,” he stated. “We are just going to see how this goes. If it’s good and everybody’s happy, we might sign back up. Right now, I’m happy we got this first one done, and hopefully everybody enjoys it, and we’ll just see how it all plays out.
