Teams with open seats for 2023: No. 4 – Kaulig Racing

Like Front Row Motorsports, Kaulig Racing have two seats open for in their driver lineup for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season.

The #31 Chevrolet is currently driven full-time by Justin Haley, who is likely to re-sign with the team. The #16 Chevrolet is run full-time but split between Noah Gragson, A.J. Allmendinger, and Daniel Hemric.

Gragson, who currently drives for JR Motorsports in the Xfinity Series, is expected to sign with Petty GMS Motorsports to replace Ty Dillon behind the wheel of the #42 Chevrolet, but it is not expected that Allmendinger or Hemric will be promoted to a full-time Cup Series role with the team.

Will Kaulig Racing continue to field the #16 Chevrolet for multiple drivers, or will they sign another full-time driver?

If they opt for the latter, don’t sleep on Kyle Busch as a possibility. With Busch and Joe Gibbs Racing still unable to come to terms on a new contract, the two-time champion has admitted that he has spoken with other teams.

While Kaulig Racing were initially reported to have had no contact with Busch about the matter, it recently emerged that Chevrolet has “entered the mix”. Put two and two together, and it’s obvious that Matt Kaulig’s team is looking to make a huge signing.
