NASCAR: Updated look at the 2023 Daytona 500 entry list
By Asher Fair
One month away from the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season-opening Daytona 500, here’s what we know about the race’s entry list.
We are officially one month away from the scheduled start of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, with the green flag set to get the 65th annual Daytona 500 underway on Sunday, February 19.
The entry list for this year’s running of the 200-lap Great American Race at the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) high-banked Daytona International Speedway oval in Daytona Beach, Florida is slowly but surely coming together.
Of the 36 chartered entries, all of which are locked into the race, 33 have confirmed drivers. All 33 of those drivers are full-time drivers. In addition to those entries, there are five non-chartered entries which have been confirmed, and all have confirmed drivers.
Because the field is capped at 40 cars, only four non-chartered entries will qualify for the race, meaning that at least one of the five confirmed non-chartered entries will fail to get into the field following the single-car qualifying session and the Bluegreen Vacations Duels.
With a month to go before the season begins, let’s have an updated look at the Daytona 500 entry list, split up into five groups: full-time drivers, full-time entries, part-time entries, possible part-time entries, and entries that have been ruled out.
NOTE: (R) means rookie.
