NASCAR drivers Joe Gibbs Racing should sign: No. 3 – Connor Mosack

Connor Mosack only made one start, the first of his NASCAR Xfinity Series career, for Joe Gibbs Racing during the 2022 season, and he only added one more start with Sam Hunt Racing, the series’ only other full-time Toyota team.

Both starts came in road course races, but don’t let that fool you. The 24-year-old Charlotte, North Carolina native competed in quite a few oval races in the ARCA Menards Series in 2021 and 2022, and he had success in doing so. He added another in the Truck Series in 2022 as well.

Additionally, Mosack is already signed to drive part-time for Sam Hunt Racing throughout the 2023 Xfinity Series season — and in more than just one or two races.

He is set to be the primary driver of the team’s newly added second full-time car, the No. 24 Toyota. There are 20 races on his schedule throughout the 33-race season, and all races and locations have already been confirmed.

While Ryan Truex has been confirmed by Joe Gibbs Racing for six races, his actual schedule as far as races and locations go hasn’t. Joe Graf Jr.’s five-race schedule has, but two races are races in which Mosack is already set to compete for Sam Hunt Racing.

That leaves 10 potential opportunities for Mosack to drive the No. 19 Toyota throughout the 2023 season. Will he land an expanded role at NASCAR’s second highest level and join Joe Gibbs Racing for a second straight year?
