Red Bull are four for four to start the 2023 Formula 1 season, with Sergio Perez taking the checkered flag in two of the three most recent events.

Reigning Formula 1 constructor world champions Red Bull have had a strong start to the 2023 season to say the least, winning each of the season’s first four races. They have secured three 1-2 finishes in those four events.

Going back to last April, they have won 20 of 23 races and secured eight 1-2 finishes. They had not previously secured any 1-2 finishes since 2016.

Two-time reigning world champion Max Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez have each won twice so far this year. Verstappen leads the driver standings with more points than any other constructor, while Perez sits just six points behind, tied with Aston Martin in total points.

One driving force behind the team’s success has been ExxonMobil. ExxonMobil is in its seventh season as an official technology partner of Red Bull, having joined the Milton Keynes-based team in 2017.

ExxonMobil provides high-performance race fuel and lubricants, plus full-time laboratory and trackside engineering support for the Red Bull Formula 1 team.

“It’s incredible,” Perez told Beyond the Flag. “The way they help us to perform – not only to perform, but how they make us last, and how they make us protect our engines and gearboxes, for example. That’s something very unique.”

But the added benefits of ExxonMobil technology aren’t limited to the race team. Race fans and everyday drivers can take advantage of the same technology used by Red Bull by filling up at an Exxon or Mobil pump. There are more than 12,000 of these stations throughout the United States.

“What people don’t really realize is that they can use exactly the same fuel technology that powers the Red Bull cars,” Perez, who revealed that he drives an X5 when he is not behind the wheel of the RB19, added.

“They can have it on a daily basis. That’s something that is super unique.”
