Jamie McMurray joined Mike Joy and Clint Bowyer in the Fox broadcast booth for the most recent NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway.

Jamie McMurray joined the Fox booth as the third member of the broadcast team for the recent NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway, calling the Toyota/Save Mart 350 alongside full-time announcers Mike Joy and Clint Bowyer.

McMurray is one of several different individuals whom Fox called upon to serve as a guest analyst throughout their portion of the 2023 broadcast schedule, which goes back to the preseason Busch Light Clash exhibition race at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, February 5.

But Fox’s portion of this year’s broadcast schedule is now officially in the books, with NBC set to take over for the remainder of the season.

NBC and USA Network are each set to broadcast 10 of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season’s 20 remaining races.

NBC is set to show four regular season races and six playoff races, while USA Network is set to show six regular season race and four playoff races. The broadcast booth consists of Rick Allen, Steve Letarte, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Jeff Burton.

It is also worth mentioning that, beginning next year, Fox will no longer be utilizing this approach of bringing in a guest analyst to be the third announcer for their portion of the broadcast schedule.

Fox had taken this approach since the start of the 2022 season. Jeff Gordon left the team after six seasons following their portion of the 2021 broadcast schedule so that he could focus on his new role as Vice Chairman of Hendrick Motorsports, and Fox did not hire a full-time replacement.

But in 2024, Kevin Harvick is set to join the broadcast team and call each race alongside Joy and Bowyer. He is set to retire from driving at the end of the 2023 season, and Josh Berry is set to replace him behind the wheel of the No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford. Harvick is currently in his 23rd season in the Cup Series and 10th with Stewart-Haas Racing.

Fox haven’t totally ruled out “special guest appearances” in the booth, however.
