Unlike the most recent Formula 1 race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring will not be shown live on ABC.

The Canadian Grand Prix at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve was the eighth of 22 races on the 2023 Formula 1 schedule and the third of five races on ABC’s broadcast schedule for the season. The other five races that have been contested so far this season were shown on ESPN.

Unlike the Canadian Grand Prix, the Austrian Grand Prix is not set to be aired on ABC. Sunday’s 71-lap race around the 10-turn, 2.683-mile (4.318-kilometer) Red Bull Ring road course in Spielberg, Styria, Austria is set to be shown live on ESPN.

Saturday’s 24-lap sprint race, the second of six sprint races on this year’s schedule, was also broadcast live on ESPN. It was the final sprint race of the 2023 Formula 1 season on ESPN, as the next two are set for ESPN2 and the final two are set for ESPNEWS.

Verstappen enters the Austrian Grand Prix having won four consecutive Formula 1 Grands Prix and having led 224 consecutive laps.

DraftKings Sportsbook, which is offering Formula 1 fans an instant $150 just for signing up and placing a $5 bet, lists Verstappen as the -300 favorite to win the race. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc (+1800) is the reigning winner.

The next race on ABC’s portion of this year’s Formula 1 broadcast schedule isn’t until October, when the United States Grand Prix is scheduled to take place at Circuit of the Americas. That race is set for 2:55 p.m. ET on Sunday, October 22.

ESPN2 is set to broadcast the first of its four races of the season, the British Grand Prix, live from Silverstone Circuit starting at 9:55 a.m. ET on Sunday, July 9.

ESPN2 had been set to broadcast the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix live from Imola Circuit back in May, but the race was canceled due to flooding in the area, reducing the 2023 schedule from 23 to 22 races and ESPN2’s schedule from five to four events.
