IndyCar: Mid-Ohio race not being broadcast on NBC
By Asher Fair
Sunday afternoon’s IndyCar race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will not be broadcast live on NBC like most of the other races on the 2023 schedule.
The 2023 IndyCar season is set to reach its halfway point this Sunday afternoon, when Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is scheduled to host the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio presented by the 2023 Accord Hybrid.
This 80-lap race around the 13-turn, 2.258-mile (3.634-kilometer) natural terrain road course in Lexington, Ohio is the ninth race on the 17-race calendar, but it is only the second race of the year which is not set to air live on NBC.
USA Network, which took over as the NBCUniversal-owned alternative to NBC when NBC Sports Network shut down at the end of 2021, is set to broadcast this race.
USA Network’s first race of the 2023 IndyCar season took place two weeks ago at Road America.
Note that IndyCar fans who have subscriptions to Peacock Premium or Peacock Premium Plus can also watch the race live on the Peacock app.
Following Sunday’s Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio presented by the 2023 Accord Hybrid, there are eight races remaining on this year’s schedule, and only one of those events is set to be shown live on USA Network. That race, the Gallagher Grand Prix, is scheduled for Sunday, August 12 at 2:00 p.m. ET at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
The only other race that won’t be shown live on NBC is the Honda Indy Toronto at Exhibition Place, which is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 16. This race is the calendar’s lone Peacock exclusive, meaning that fans will need a subscription to the streaming service to watch live.
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is set to host the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio presented by the 2023 Accord Hybrid on Sunday, July 2. Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin is the reigning winner. USA Network is scheduled to broadcast the race live starting at 1:30 p.m. ET. Be sure to take advantage of FuboTV’s free trial offer now and tune in!
