NASCAR: Who’s Hot And Who’s Not Heading Into Daytona

HOT – Hendrick Motorsports
It seems that every week now all of the drivers for Team Hendrick are running inside of the top-10. Coming out of Kentucky where they ran 5th (Dale Earnhardt Jr.), 6th (Jeff Gordon), 8th (Kasey Kahne) and 10th (Jimmie Johnson) the Hendrick crew now heads into Daytona where they will look to add onto their top-10 streak. In February Gordon and Earnhardt Jr. finished the Daytona 500 inside of the top-five with Earnhardt Jr. winning the race. Saturday night Johnson and Kahne will look to use the momentum that they have built over the last month to have strong Daytona finishes as well. While everything seems to be great at Team Hendrick, the one dark cloud is the driver of the No. 5 machine. Kahne is still without a win and as a result is not locked into the chase as of yet. If Kahne continues to produce strong finishes he will most likely make the chase based on points but I am sure that Rick Hendrick would prefer for the No. 5 team to get a win before the chase begins.
