NASCAR Nationwide Series at Kentucky Speedway: entry list

The NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to Sparta, Ky., this weekend for a Saturday night stand-alone race at Kentucky Speedway — the VistMyrtleBeach.com 300.

With the Sprint Cup Series, along with the Camping World Truck Series, at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon for the weekend, some of the somewhat regular cast of characters won’t be at Kentucky Speedway for this Nationwide Series weekend. As a result, Sam Hornish Jr. returns to the seat of the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. Meanwhile, Michael McDowell, who sometimes races Nationwide cars for JGR, will climb into the No. 22 Team Penske Ford that the No. 54 team is racing for the Nationwide owner’s championship. So far this season, the No. 22 has been driven, primarily, by Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney. All three of those drivers are in New Hampshire, Keselowski and Logano for the Sprint Cup race and Blaney for the Truck Series race.

There are 41 drivers on the entry list for Saturday night’s Nationwide Series race at Kentucky, so as long as there are no late withdrawals, one driver will be left on the outside looking in after Saturday’s qualifying session.

Qualifying for the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET on Saturday, with the race to follow at 7:30 p.m. The race will be shown live on ESPNews.
