NASCAR: One Question Facing Each Driver Ahead Of 2015 Season
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports
Matt Kenseth (JGR) – Will Kenseth return to victory lane in 2015?
It’s hard to swallow the last two seasons if you’re Kenseth and the No. 20 team.
In 2013 Kenseth moved over to JGR and he set the series on fire. Kenseth won seven times in 2013 and he made a serious run at the 2013 championship before Jimmie Johnson ultimately won it. Then came 2014 where Kenseth did not win a single race, not one. A driver going from seven wins to no wins the following season is not very common in this sport.
Despite not winning a race Kenseth still made the chase and advanced fairly far.
It’s hard to see Kenseth not winning again in 2015. JGR is primed to make a run and build themselves up as a dominant team in the sport. Kenseth has a great No. 20 team and the talent to win multiple times in a season. Kenseth ran well enough to win in 2014 but simply couldn’t break through, I don’t predict him having the same issues this season.
