The Best Week Ever – Matt Kenseth

When you go 51 races without a win and then you win a marathon-event like Bristol; you without question had the best week ever.

Earlier this week Kenseth was asked about retirement. After all, he is just one year younger than Jeff Gordon who is stepping away after this season. Throw in the fact that he hadn’t won in almost two years and the fact that Toyota seemed to be struggling and it was a question that made some sense. Kenseth denied any thoughts or desires to leave racing and then he went to Bristol to show us why he felt that way.

Kenseth took the pole on Friday, was fast on Saturday and won on Sunday.

Rain, cautions, wrecks, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards and others couldn’t stop Kenseth from reaching victory lane late Sunday night. Kenseth said this week that he feels better than he did 10 years ago, at Bristol he looked that way also.
